Elderberry tincture
I am in the process of making a few gallons of this stuff for the Bird Flu (ok I am still undecieded on this bird flu mess, but better safe than sorry right?) Do you all think it would be possible to sell some and make some extra $$$? Being a broke college student I am in desperate need of cash or I am going to have to sell my silver stash! Eeeep!:bawling:

Re: Elderberry tincture
You could probably make some money off it, I am not sure if it would be a lot though. If there is a major outbreak(real or fake) demand will shoot up though. If like actually lock down a country, or say its spreading people to people, then you could likely make huge profits. People will be buying anything and everything. They will even buy stuff that don't work.

Re: Elderberry tincture
Just doing a quick google search it seems they sell for like 10-20 dollars. And they are mostly selling like 1-2oz and stuff. So if your actually making gallons of it you could probably get a lot.
To be honest I never really heard that much about it so I am probably not the best person to get advice from. The internet is so big though, I am fairly sure you can sell almost anything for a profit. |
Re: Elderberry tincture
Girl, Make Elderberry wine and BlackBerry Brandy and stash it away like you hoard your silver.
I went to the farmers market today where I know most of the Organic farmers, they were all smoking with biz. Other things that were hot were the beads and shells, I ordered a new anklet from a girl who said she had some old pukas from the 70's they are better than the ones you get now from the Philipines and have a toning to them people try to fake, I can pick em out. Look around your junk or antique shops and yard sales for old shells and necklace beads, many are crystal amethyst jade topaz even pearls whatever, scarf that stuff up. I will message you. |
Re: Elderberry tincture
Thanks for the tips. I am going to sell my pottery and a couple of my paintings on ebay. Maybe that will bring in enough cash. I am not going to sell my silver unless its do or die, and even then I'll sell it to my dad (which would be pretty much like him loaning fiat and holding the silver for coladeral)

Re: Elderberry tincture
Hi, I just learned about elderberries recently. Can you briefly (1-2 sentences or a link or two) explain how to acquire said elderberries and how one goes about producing a "tincture?"
The stuff costs a fortune in health shops where I live, and is completely sold out. |
Re: Elderberry tincture
Get a gallon jar, and a gallon of a minumim off 80 proof Vodka. Fill the jar 1/2 way with elderberries and the rest with the vodka. Let it sit for at least 1 month 2-3 is better. Also blending this mixture up in the blender is good too. When your done strain and put in a clean jar. As for where to buy them, the place I know of is sold out. Google for them, is the best I can say.

Re: Elderberry tincture
Wouldn't Everclear be a good base for that? And are you using berries or flowers? I once had an elderberry flower soda, and it was excellent.
...So it doesn't have to be for fear. Also have made rosewater in a similar way. TS |
